School Uniform
Please note, our School Uniform Policy is currently being updated for 2026-27, in-line with DfE Guidance - this will be added to the website ready for the new academic year.
Winwick Church of England Primary School has a uniform policy approved and adopted by the School Governors and supported by parents. The governors, staff and parents believe that wearing a smart, practical uniform reinforces a correct attitude to school and learning. All parents are encouraged to send their children to school in the required uniform. Parents are invited to agree to the uniform policy as part of the Home and School Agreement.
The uniform consists of the following;
- Royal blue school sweatshirt or cardigan (Sweatshirts and cardigans featuring the school logo are available from our school provider, but non-branded royal blue ones are also suitable)
- White shirt or polo shirt
- Grey trousers (long or short) or a grey skirt or pinafore
- Blue and gold school tie (optional)
- Blue and white checked or striped dress (warmer weather - optional)
- Suitable dark footwear (not high heels or trainers)
- No jewellery may be worn, apart from stud earrings in pierced ears.
- No make-up, painted nails or false tattoos
- PE Kit (Warmer Weather) - A white t-shirt and blue or black shorts, with trainers
- PE Kit (Colder Weather) – Navy Tracksuit bottoms and navy hoodie/jumper top and trainers
- Long hair should be tied back (fashion headbands/hair accessories should not be worn (e.g. no oversized bows or diamante/brightly coloured/cat ear headbands)
- Book Bag: Due to space available in school, we ask that children bring a book bag and NOT a larger bag or rucksack. If a child has a particular need to bring a larger bag (e.g. staying at an alternative place/attending a club that requires a change of clothes), this can be brought into school on the days that this is needed; on all other days, a book bag should be brought into school.
- Swimming Kit (specific year groups - see details below): Suitable swimwear
Sweatshirts, polo shirts, T shirts, royal blue fleece, waterproof jackets and trousers, PE Kit and tracksuit with the school logo are available for purchase from Touchline see below, as well as book bags. There is no requirement that any uniform is branded. Any uniform can be purchased from other retailers (e.g. supermarkets) as long as the school colours are adhered to.
Please put your child’s name on EVERYTHING and check regularly as sometimes this can fade over time! Uniform can be purchased through Touchline by visiting the website www.touchline-embroidery.co.uk or calling 01925 413777
Swimming Lessons & Swimming Kits
All children who are well enough to attend school will be expected to attend the pool and/or PE lessons unless they have a medical note to exempt them as swimming lessons form part of the National Curriculum. Medical information should be presented to the school office. PE Kit is to be worn on the child’s designated PE day or Swimming Day. Swimming is currently delivered to Year 4 and Year 5, in a block of 10 weeks. Further details will be shared with parents each academic year as days and terms can change annually.
Pre-loved Uniform Stall
At any events during the year we offer a pre-loved uniform stall for parents to take advantage of any uniform they need. This can be for a nominal donation or just taken if needed.
School staff are also available at any time to speak to about any issues with uniform. We are always here to help and can support families who are in need.
As part of the Pupil Premium funding, all pupils who are in receipt of this are offered new uniform if parents wish it.
A huge thank you to members of the PTFA for organising this for school.
