PTFA: Parents, Teachers and Friends Association
Our Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) has an important role to play in the life of our school. It provides a valuable bridge between families and school staff, helping us work together to support our children’s learning, wellbeing and wider school experience.
Alongside the work already undertaken by the school, the PTFA can provide additional opportunities and resources that directly benefit our children. Through fundraising, community support and social activities, we can help to:
- Raise vital additional funds to enhance our children’s experience at school – from extra classroom, resources and supplies, to upgraded playground equipment and support for educational visits and field trips.
- Support learning and wellbeing, helping provide opportunities and resources that may not otherwise be possible through the school’s core budget.
- Bring our school community together through events and activities where parents, teachers and pupils can meet, connect and build relationships.
- Strengthen our sense of community and school family, creating a welcoming and supportive environment in which children and adults alike feel connected and valued.
- Build stronger links between families and the school, ensuring that parents and the wider school community have a positive opportunity to contribute to school life.
Importantly, the PTFA is not simply about organising fundraising events. We want to create an effective, well-organised and sustainable group that makes the best possible use of the skills, experience and enthusiasm within our school community. As a parent/carer, you are automatically a member of our PTFA, but we also welcome support from our wider school community for any volunteers who can share their time, expertise, skills and ideas during the school year.
